In this episode we dive into the difference between our fear voice and our intuitive higher self voice. Fear is there to protect us, but if we confuse fear every time as our intuitive guidance we will remain in our comfy comfort zone.

Is It Fear or Intuition?
Let's talk a bit about the differences between our fear voice and intuitive higher self voice! Once we find the differences and truly understand how to differentiate the two then we can fully connect deeper into that inner guidance system and not be confused with fear!
So first let’s talk about fear! Fear is truly not all that bad. It's what keeps us safe right? Whatever you may be fearful of another may not be because fear is heavily created by our own past experiences. So for example, the fact that you may have had a traumatic experience when you were younger can lead to you being fearful of something now. For me, I had a hard time reading when I was young and was always afraid of being made fun of for it. Which then later in life caused me to be fearful of reading / speaking in public. Now is public speaking/ reading actually scary? No, it’s something I do every day. As an adult we read all the time! So is that something I should be scared of? No. That's one way we can begin to tell ourselves that it's not actually scary and that we are leaning on past traumatic experiences to guide us. Once we become aware of that we can push away that fear and say no I want to read a motivational quote in front of my class or whatever it may be because I want to. This is something I've done before, I know how to do it. Then do the thing! This is actually something that I have said before, you want to lean into the excitement of why you are doing it in the first place.
Now, your intuition is your inner guidance system, your higher self. It’s your inner knowing and gut feeling, the ability to know something immediately without any conscious reasoning or logic. I would say that for the longest time I didn't really understand my intuition and needed to create a relationship with that inner higher self. And the more I built that relationship the more I could lean on my intuition and have clarity and answers for a lot of questions for life decisions. Which when you think about it is really cool! Even when you are speaking for example, When I get ready to start a podcast episode I have notes to guide me, but what mostly comes through is from me trusting myself / intuition.
Let’s Talk about our mind for a moment. Now this is something that comes from when I was doing my NLP coaching certification. I really learned a lot about the mind and it really does connect a lot to our intuition. I know a lot of people don't necessarily believe in intuition and think it's a lot of woowoo and like to lean more on facts and logic. I actually believe that a balance of the two is really good.and ig you are really connected to your intuition but also gather all the information you need is a good way to make life decisions without second guessing yourself. So the mind has two parts. The conscious mind and the unconscious mind. The conscious mind is what we live in our waking state the most. It's your logical mind we use when we are conversing and telling people your opinion, curating an email, ect. Logic logic logic. However that's not where our intuitive mind lies. Our conscious mind constitutes only .006% of our whole mind… Which is Crazy! Because we live 99.9% of our lives in our conscious mind right! Yet it's such a small part of our mind. And what's even crazier is that our conscious mind has a filter system called the reticular activating system. This filter grabs all our experiences, our upbringing, habits, our beliefs. And it then creates our perception of the world, our habits and it created basically our whole living experience. By living in our conscious mind we are basically at the expense of our filter. Now i have given you a trick on how to get around this in the past, which is to view your life in the third person. It's when we tap into our unconscious mind that we are able to connect to our intuition. Now how do we do that? Some people are really good at doing this naturally, but you have to trust yourself and in the universe that you're getting the answers you need. And it might be in the time or space that you want because wanting attachment to a time and a shape is our logical mind. We want to live unconsciously to get these answers.
So priority number 1 is trusting yourself and that the universe, God, your spirit guides whatever it is that you believe in, is always there guiding us. So once we realize that we have to fully surrender and trust then how do we tap into our intuition. It's truly so simple. First of all tapping into the feelings. So feelings are actually a really great vehicle to connecting to our unconscious mind because it is through feeling that we can change the way we feel and basically tap into that part of us that is not logical. So basically we want to notice if something feels expansive vs contracting. So I want you to think of your favorite place. Maybe a beach or a field, your parents house , wherever it is I want you to go back to your place. And while you're in your mind's eye I want you to notice how it feels in your body. Notice if it feels light, expansive, almost like you're levitating, and really tap into that. Now if this is difficult for you, because it really does take practice I want you to just close your eyes and take a few deep breaths and tap into that moment, relax and and bring your gaze to your third eye between your brows. Now using that third eye think back to your favorite place and the last time you were there. Feel what you felt when you were there. If it feels expensive then make it even more expansive. Maybe it feels contracting like maybe you had a bad experience the last time you were there. Now take yourself out of that place and bring yourself to the kitchen table and someone brings you a plate of your least favorite food. It's the worst you gag every time you think about it and they're telling you that you better eat it or else. Now you take a bite of that food and how do you feel? Your stomach turns, that feeling is your intuition saying no. Now obviously these two scenarios are not something you would need your intuition for, it's just a practice for you to tap into that divine inner knowing.
Now make it practical. If you need to make a decision I want you to sit comfortable and take a few deep breaths through your nose and relax your body. Focus your gaze in your third eye and think of what you need to decide. You have option A and B. Now when you think of each individual option notice if it feels either expensive or contracting. By doing this and being aware of how you're feeling you are going to get your answer. You might not get the answer right when you want so that's why you need to continue tapping in and building that relationship with your intuition. Constantly be asking your intuition for guidance. Our intuition is not our logical answer but our quick first answer. That's why when I do NLP there's a technique called time technique which heals past experiences. Whenever I ask my clients a question I ask them to pick a number from 1-10 123 go! I want you to ask yourself this and do it then the first number that comes to mind is your intuitive unconscious answer. Your first answer without thought is your intuitive answer. Because remember your brain has 5 seconds to get in your own way. That's when your logical mind kicks in. One of the best ways to connect with your higher intuitive self is to learn to sit in quietness. I know I say it all the time but breathwork is a really great way to unplug your logical mind and tap into your intuitive mind. Which if you go to my instagram page I have IGTVS all about breathwork so go check that out!
